Randoms of the Week – Boise Idaho Photographer

Monday my husband cooked dinner. It’s always nice when he does it because it allowed me to work on some stuff. He is the breakfast/baker of the family and I’m the dinner cooker.

Tuesday= worst. commute. ever. I have to take the freeway to Nampa twice a week for a class and I swear it is going to give me premature wrinkles. Okay maybe I’m being a little dramatic but it sucks.

Not only is there construction on the freeway but in two additional places along the commute.

Wednesday I decided to make Chicken Caesar Salad Wraps for dinner. I even made my dressing from scratch. It was really yummy. I didn’t realize how much oil was in it. The recipe called for Vegetable Oil but I am on strike with Vegetable Oil so I used Olive Oil. Olive Oil has a much better taste anyway.

Thursday we got news that my little sister’s baby is a girl. She’s due in June. Originally I had “felt” that she was going to have a boy, but as time went on I started feeling girl. I was hoping for a boy because we need a little testosterone in our family. Too many girls :) BUT another girl wouldn’t hurt anything.

Friday I finally figured out my new balance between work, school, and extra curricular activities again. The result was a much better week. It’s funny how taking one semester off really throws you off. It has also made me a better student.

Greco Theatre – Boise Idaho Photographer

HAPPY FRIDAY!

I was going through some honeymoon photos (that I have still yet to blog) and I felt the need to share one photo with you. It was when we were in Taormina, Italy (Sicily). It’s a theater on high part of the area. It was so beautiful an serene. The wind was slightly blowing and the weather was perfect.

Here’s a photo I took from the back. They still do performances there today. I would have loved to be able to watch one.

Doggies! – Boise Idaho Photographer

I was going through my files from a recent maternity shoot and I had to share this photo.

This is Jasper. He will soon be joined by, not one, but new new baby boys. I’m excited for these little guys to come and excited to share the maternity session with you. For now this fun photo of Jasper will have to do. This photo says everything about his personality.

Maternity! The Verkerk Family – Boise Idaho Maternity Photographer

It seems that January has been the month of maternity photos. It’s been quite refreshing actually. Here are some of my favorites from the Verkerk maternity shoot. You might remember these guys from here and here in November.

My favorite out of the whole bunch. Mom hanging in the little guy’s room. It is a cowboy theme and very cute.

Big sister watching all of mom and dad’s shenanigans.

Another one of my favorites.

Randoms of the Week – Boise Idaho Photographer

You probably noticed that my normal Saturday posting of Randoms didn’t post. All I have to say about last week is that I’m glad it’s over. This week will hopefully be a little better and I will have nice things to say about it. For now, I’ll leave you with this adorable photo from a session this weekend. More to come.

My Dad in a Nutshell

I just received a series of text messages from my dad and it made me laugh. He’s a truck driver and during deliveries he has some down time. Occasionally I’ll get texts like “what’s up” or “what are you doing”. This one was particularly funny to me.

For a quick background: I grew up with divorced parents. They were too young when they were married and it didn’t work out. My mom was always the rule maker and disciplinary. My dad served as the cool guy who was a big kid at heart. He always let us get the coolest clothes and do fun stuff and never told us no. Just really laid back and cool. In fact he’s still the same way.

This conversation really made me laugh today because it’s just a reminder of my childhood and how my dad used to do gifts in the past.

When reading this, keep in mind that my birthday is still almost a full month away.

Dad: What do you want for your birthday?

Me:  Not sure yet.

Dad: How about something for your new car. Nice bug guard, dash mat, etc…  (must be a guy thing because I would never buy that stuff for myself… haha)

Me: I need stuff for my camera.

Dad: Custom floor mats?

Me: Call Matt. He knows what I want. Nothing for the car.

Dad: I did. No luck.

Me: I could use a massage and a pedicure, my favorite spa is (favorite spa goes here).

Dad: How about a puppy?

Me: NO WAY! (dad knows we have enough dogs)

Me: I have also been looking at a pair of Danskos.

Dad: What shoes? Like boots?

Me: Stylish to wear to weddings when I’ll be on my feet all day.

Dad: Yes. You pick them and I’ll buy them. If you want them early that’s cool too.

YES!

And because posts are not fun without a photo… here is the most recent photo I have of my dad and I.

FAQ – Boise Idaho Photographer

I’ve been thinking about some FAQ’s I should add to my site. Let me know from a client’s perspective what you would like to know when looking for a photographer.

I’ve also started a place where people can ask questions and I’ll answer. Anything inappropriate will be removed, but otherwise I’m an open book.

Try it HERE.
