I'm Back! – Boise Idaho Lifestyle Photographer

….. in Boise!

It feels good to be home. I’m looking forward to staying home for the next few weeks. I’ve got to fly out to Salt Lake City for work in late July but it’s at least enough space for me to enjoy my happy home.

I’ll have some real photos from my trip here in South Dakota to visit my dad, but for now you’ll have to survive with some cell phone photos :)

Mount Rushmore: I couldn’t get over how weird it was that a guy decided to carve the heads of presidents into a mountain. Though I learned all about why and who did it, I still can’t get over the fact of how weird it is.

Ironman Video

Okay so I’m not quite a videographer, but it was fun to put this video together with our new camera. I threw in a couple (blurry) photos as well.

 

Haven't Blogged for a While

Sorry you haven’t heard from me lately. I’ve had some bad computer luck. Here’s my timeline of events.

6 months ago: External harddrive #2 decided to fail me.

2 weeks ago: Received my new external harddrive in the mail, went to go format it and formated the wrong external harddrive (external harddrive #1).

1 week ago: Internal harddrive died.

So now I’m starting FRESH. I have a new internal harddrive, 2 fresh and empty external harddrives.

Fortunately I’ve had everything backed up so no harm no foul, just lots of time will be commited to restoring everything back to where it was. Ugh.

Ironman is Not Just a Movie – Boise Idaho Lifestyle Photographer

What do I mean by this?

Here are a couple definitions courtesy of Google.

  • iron man: a strong man of exceptional physical endurance
  • The sport of Ironman was developed in 1964 in Australia to combine the four main disciplines of surflifesaving into a single race; swimming, board paddling, ski paddling and running. The sport should not be confused with Ironman triathlon.
  • The Ironman World Triathlon Championship or Ironman Triathlon is an annual triathlon race, made famous by its grueling length, race conditions (swimming, biking, running).
  • Ironman is the debut album by American Hip-hop artist and Wu-Tang Clan member Ghostface Killah. Compared to other first generation solo albums … (okay this one was random but I had to put it in there because it was really funny.

Anyway, the reason I decided to post this is because I’m headed out to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho for one of the biggest physical races out there.

It is consists of a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile bike ride, and a marathon (26 miles) all in consecutive order and at one time without stopping.

I’m excited to shoot but I’m even more excited to watch my soon-to-be Ironman racer.  I’ll have lots of pictures to share this week. Wish him LUCK (even though he doesn’t need it :) )!!

Flowers I Did NOT Pay For – Boise Idaho Lifestyle Photographer

I’m not scared of the rain. The reason I say this, is because it has been raining much more than normal for Boise Idaho weather. The result, our yard is green and my flowers are fuller than ever. I just planted some Shasta Daisies last summer and all the rain from this summer has made them HUGE and plentiful.

Here is my first centerpiece in my house that I didn’t have to pay for :)

Birth Photography – Boise Idaho Photography

I’m interested to hear opinions on birth photography.  I’ve seen some session photos where people have hired a photographer to be in the room during a birth. They’ve captured the most amazing photos and I’d love to do that. Anyone have experience with that?

What makes me think of this is I ran across a blog by Pinkle Toes Photography and I’m totally envious. If anyone is interested in seeing the post and slideshow video of a birth session she did it can be found HERE. Very amazing, made me tear up a little bit just watching it.

Anyway, I’m interested to see if anyone out there has done it and their experiences with it.

Website Temporarily Down

Just in case anyone was having issues, my site is temporarily down. My host, Startlogic, always has problems. Here’s the latest:
